The American Chopper BSN Bike Build
BSN and Orange County Choppers join forces to build one of the sickest bikes either of them have ever seen, and it was all captured on film for the April 24th American Chopper episode.
On April 24 at just after 8:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, the brand new custom fabrication BSN-themed OCC Chopper was unveiled for the first time ever on national television, live on the CBS Early Show. With a huge crowd gathered around, this amazing machine was featured in a live segment and started up in the heart of New York City, much to the amazement of all. Later that day, at 9:00 p.m. precisely, the official American Chopper BSN Bike build episode, which featured the building of the aforementioned chopper, ran for the first time ever in primetime on TLC. This highly-anticipated episode, which featured the OCC crew hand-crafting a custom fabrication, one-of-a-kind BSN-themed chopper, brought in almost 2.5 million viewers during the highly-coveted 9:00 p.m. cable timeslot!
Along with the custom fabrication of the BSN chopper from conceptualization to completion, viewers were also entertained with an impromptu strongman contest, which featured OCC crew members and Team BSN athletes Anthony Presciano and 8-Time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman competing in wild events like the tire toss, golf cart pull and even an engine carry relay. In addition to this, episode watchers were also treated to a bench press contest, which was judged by the Girls of BSN. Not only did these beautiful women judge and spot for this bench-off, they also helped with the breakdown of the BSN custom chopper later in the episode. Needless to say, this segment was a highlight for everyone involved!
In addition to the manufacture of the custom fabrication BSN-themed chopper, BSN also commissioned the OCC crew to produce an additional, authentic replica BSN chopper. Both amazing bikes were unveiled simultaneously at the conclusion of the episode at a Soldiers Monument in West Point, New York, near the Keller Army Community Hospital, where in a touching moment, it was announced that BSN plans to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this replica BSN chopper directly to the Warrior Transition Unit.
The Warrior Transition Unit is a special unit within the Keller Army Community Hospital that provides command and control, primary care, and case management for wounded soldiers. On hand for this unveiling ceremony were OCC crew members, staff and soldiers from the Warrior Transition Unit and BSN’s very own Vice President and co-owner Scott James.
With military hospitals a cause near and dear to BSN’s heart, James commented, “We really wanted to do something to give back to the soldiers who put their lives on the line every day protecting our country. I want to thank everyone at the Warrior Transition Unit, the Keller Army Community hospital, OCC, Discovery and all of our brave military personnel for going above and beyond the call of duty everyday. I loved the episode and this is an experience that I will take with me forever.”
