The Ghosting Effect Of Protein

The Ghosting Effect Of Protein

This is the story of our friend Mike and the "ghosting" effect of protein, something that will be explained momentarily. Before we get to that though, it's important to note that Mike is actually not his real name.

Rather, it's a pen name, as he wanted to keep his real name confidential. Like many of you who are about to read this feature, Mike would constantly ask himself about protein, especially with respect to what protein was best. Despite all this asking and all his efforts when it came to finding a quality protein supplement, Mike never really felt satisfied with any of the protein supplements he tried, always feeling a bit short changed. We wanted to take this opportunity to share his insights with you, our valued Body & Style™ readers, for many of you have likely had a similar experience. You too probably find yourself continually asking what protein is best for you. By the end of this article, your decision will be much clearer.

When Mike started training a little over nine and a half years ago, it wasn't because he wanted to keep the existing state of his body; the dictionary calls that "maintenance." Why would he want to maintain a body that he didn't like? Mike started training because hewanted to continually improve the state of his body, largely by building lean, defined muscles. He knew this meant he would haveto maintain active growth of his muscles, a process that requires a continual supply of quality protein.

The Ghost of Proteins Past

In high school and college he tried a dozen different brands of protein supplements.

"I never had any luck with protein supplements. Whether I had one shake a day or four, it didn't matter. They'd pass through me like a ghost, as if my muscles never saw the protein. I've never truly felt a protein supplement register in my muscles."So Mike stopped using protein supplements, although he never stopped searching for a good one.

He took mathematics in college. Then he landed a prime asset management jobwith one of the largest banking chains in the United States. To this day, he still trains, and he still reads bodybuilding and fitness magazines, looking at the athletes that grace the pages and still wanting to look like them.

"That's my goal," he says. Working out and eating right doesn't pay Mike's bills. Managing other people's money does. That takes up a lot of his time and energy.

"I have two choices: I can quit my job, stay home and make wholesome meals, or I can keep my job and meet some of my nutritional needs with supplements." As Mike sees it, eating to maintain the active growth of his muscles is an optimization problem: the goal is to find the best possible nutritional solution.

"In theory, a protein supplement could be part of that solution, but only if I can feel it working. I need to know that it's registering in my muscles - that it's joining my body, not just passing through me."

Two Stories Collide

Five years ago BSN started working on a solution to Mike's so-called "optimization" problem. Their research and development team began blending high-quality proteins together in specific proportions. They tested prototype after prototype, over and over again. Each time they learned something. They crossed out some protein fractions andreplaced them with others. They adjusted the proportions. They improvised and innovated. Then they tested again. Over the course of those five years a vast quantity of information was discarded. Then a nutritional solution emerged: SYNTHA-6™.

SYNTHA-6™: Not An Apparition

SYNTHA-6™ is a combination of morphogenic proteins imparted with energetic flavors that even a mathematician can appreciate. With rapid and sustained digestion, SYNTHA-6™'s proprietary blend of six top-notch proteins yields an explosive flood of amino acids that muscle cells can clearly see, and build with for hours at a time. Mike remembered seeing BSN's N.O.-XPLODE™ commercial on ESPN and he had also read about BSN in the magazines. Based on that, he decided to give SYNTHA-6™ a go. Now, Mike's no longer seeing ghosts.

"There's no ghosting effect withSYNTHA-6™. I feel its protein. It's got a deep amino acid profile that really registers in my muscles. Taking SYNTHA-6™ is kind of like tossing a rock into a lake. Waves of muscle-generating energy spread outward in all directions for hours afterward. And BSN's food scientists broke the taste barrier with this stuff! It's really, really delicious."

SYNTHA-6™ PROTEIN MATRIX COMPONENTS DIGESTION RATE*
1 Ultra-Filtered Whey Protein Concentrate 2-3 Hours
2 Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate 2-3 Hours
3 Egg Albumen 2-3 Hours
4 Milk Protein Concentrate 4-6 Hours
5 Calcium Caseinate 6-8 Hours
6 Micellar Alpha and Beta Caseins and Caseinates 6-8 Hours
*The digestion rates for the various protein sources listed above are quoted in general terms and may change depending on the amount of protein consumed and whether or not the proteins are consumed with other foods and/or macronutrients.

Put An End To "Ghosting "

To BSN, eating for the maintenance of active muscle growth is more than just an optimization problem; it's a matter of business. BSN formulated SYNTHA-6™ as a best-of-breed protein supplement that would prevent its constituent amino acids from passing by muscle tissue without being used - the "ghosting" effect that so many customers experience when using protein supplements. The reality is that BSN caters to an educated, discerning type of customer - just like Mike and just like you. They don't settle for second best, and neither should you.

Try SYNTHA-6™, the protein supplement that many customers are calling the best of the genre, and put a stop to protein "ghosting" for good.
