Here at Body & Style™ we often encounter people who have undergone dramatic life changes with respect to their fitness level and overall physical appearance. One such individual we came across recently left such a positive impression on us that we decided to feature his story here, as a means of inspiration for all of our loyal readers.
Joe, a resident of Sandusky, Ohio, started on his quest for a healthier lifestyle some four years ago, when he weighed over 270 pounds. Trying to establish good habits for himself while simultaneously striving to act as a great, positive role model for his two young children, Joe began making some very necessary lifestyle changes: eliminating junk food and alcohol from his diet, and incorporating running into his schedule on a regular basis. By making these changes, Joe was able to lose 70 pounds, bringing his body weight down to 200 pounds (at 20% body fat) by late February 2008. Seeing these results firsthand motivated Joe to push even harder to obtain his dream physique, and led to Joe attending the 2008 Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio to further immerse himself in the health and fitness culture. It was at this very expo that Joe had a positive encounter with none other than Team BSN athlete
Anthony Presciano while visiting the BSN booth.
Armed with the newfound diet and training advice gleaned from Anthony (which included a new supplement plan involving the use of ATRO-PHEX® for his energy and weight management needs, and LEAN DESSERT PROTEIN™ for his protein needs), Joe was more motivated than ever to begin the second leg of his life change. He returned home, continued to correspond with Anthony via e-mail and turned up the heat on his plan. Lo and behold, by June of 2008 he found himself weighing 165 pounds at 10% body fat—with a great set of abs to boot!
Currently, Joe is working hard to add a little lean muscle to his physique, studying to obtain his personal training certification so he can further extend the gift of fitness to others, and training to run a full marathon. Please help us congratulate Joe on his amazing life change.
Way to go Joe, you are truly an inspiration to us all!
